Andrea Veselá

In her artistic practice, Andrea Veselá (b. 1991, Bratislava) explores fiction as an architectural space and fictional structures as non-utopian. The starting point is the idea that fiction is not an escape, but rather a constitutive structure that helps to shape the built environment. Veselá’s works function as spaces in which the time required to conceive fiction simultaneously forms their very structure. She works performatively – at the intersection of photography, singing, projection, sculpture and text.

Her works have so far been exhibited in Munich, Berlin, Lidice, Vlora-Radhime, Pristina and Tbilisi, where they have been supported by several municipal, state and public institutions. In 2025, as part of Public Arts Munich, she realised a time- and site-specific sound intervention at the former headquarters of Radio Free Europe in Munich. In 2024, she initiated the project ⋮, a series of exhibition and residency structures that interprets the crossing of different time zones as its modus operandi for creating shared international spaces.

Andrea Veselá is an architect (graduated in 2018 from TUM) and is currently studying as a master’s student under Olaf Nicolai (graduated in 2027 from AdBK Munich). She currently lives and works in Munich.
