Three emerging artists currently live and work at the International Künstlerhaus in Fronberg as part of the residency programme: Yun Yugyeong and Moon Youngchae from South Korea, and Olena Kurzel from Ukraine.

At the Open Studios on Saturday, 25 July 2026, from 3:00–6:00 pm, they will present the works they have recently developed during their residency and look forward to welcoming visitors.

The event will be followed by the annual summer party of the Friends of the Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus.

Olena Kurzel (born 2000 in Yuzhnoukrainsk, Ukraine) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, and installation. Her practice explores memory, the landscapes of her childhood, and the relationship between humans and nature. Engaging with posthumanism, ecocide, and speculative mythology, she imagines possible future scenarios through immersive installations that combine papier-mâché, painting, and video, often using recycled materials.

Yun Yugyeong (born 2001 in Busan, South Korea) has been studying Fine Art and Archaeology at Dong-A University since 2020. In her artistic practice, she combines painting with archaeological inquiry, treating the canvas as a site where layers of time, memory, and history are unearthed in order to reflect on human existence and the search for orientation in an increasingly uncertain world.

Moon Youngchae (born 2004 in Busan, South Korea) is currently completing her Fine Art studies at Dong-A University in Busan. Her work investigates the often invisible structures that shape our thinking, perception, and social relationships. Using everyday materials and process-based methods, she reveals hidden tensions between the individual and society, creating works that function as open spaces for personal perception and reflection.

The artists and the team at Kebbel Villa look forward to your visit!
