In this workshop, Limpe Fuchs introduces participants to the fascinating sonic possibilities of their instruments. From suspended strings and sound series made of wood, stone and metal to tube drums, snare drums, sheet metal drums and bronze sheets – the variety of sound sources invites experimentation. Participants are also welcome to bring their own instruments.
After an initial phase of free exploration, the ‘playing and listening’ begins. At first, only a few participants take an active part, whilst the others listen attentively. The aim is to experience the instruments consciously and not to overtax one’s own abilities. It is only when one perceives the sounds of others whilst playing oneself that the non-verbal communication arises which brings the music to life.
