For the last time in 2025, the International Artist Residence in Schwandorf-Fronberg will open its doors:
On Sunday, 28 September 2025, from 14:00 to 17:00, our guest artists Katja Sparf (Finland) and Isabella Trybula (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) cordially invite you to take a look inside their studios.
Supported by the worldwide exchange programme of the Friends of the Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus, both visual artists have been living and working in Schwandorf since the beginning of September, devoting themselves to their latest works in the idyllic atmosphere of the Upper Palatinate.
Katja Sparf, born in Vaasa, Finland, completed her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts at Novia University of Applied Sciences in 2025. Although she is primarily a landscape painter, she works with various materials and techniques, focusing on nature, memory, form, movement and contrast; her expressive, colourful paintings convey her own emotions and experiences and reflect the relationship between humans and nature.
Isabella Trybula grew up in northern Germany and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and the University of Applied Sciences in Wismar. In her works, the artist examines and abstracts our perception of reality based on knowledge, experience and socialisation through drawings, paintings, sculptures and installations. She places a particular focus on random moments.
The artists and the Kebbel Villa team are looking forward to your visit!
Take advantage of the last opportunity in 2025 to visit our guest artists' open studios – afterwards, the international exchange programme will take its annual winter break.
Stay tuned for the next scholarship holders from all over the world in March 2026.
Venue: International Künstlerhaus, Maximilianstr. 10, 92421 Schwandorf
