Heliogravure is a fascinating printing technique in which a photographic halftone image is transferred to a copper plate and etched. This workshop will demonstrate the steps involved and how it works in detail.
During the two-day course, participants will have the opportunity to look over the shoulder of artist Alois Achatz and learn interesting details about this complex technique.
More about the artist Alois Achatz:
Born in Kaikenried in 1964, the artist trained in wood carving in Oberammergau and studied sculpture in Munich. He has been working as a freelance artist since 1996 (focus: sculpture, printmaking, photography) and lives and works in Eitlbrunn near Regensburg. Throughout his career, Alois Achatz has been nominated for various scholarships and has received several awards.
