Closed for barrier-free conversion

07.07.25 – 21.02.26

From 7 July 2025, The Kebbel Villa will be closed for barrier-free renovations. Our goal is to make art and culture even more accessible to everyone in the future.

A central feature of the construction work is the installation of an elevator that will connect all levels of the listed building—from the printmaking studios in the basement to the two exhibition floors and the event hall on the second floor. The entrance area will also be redesigned for full accessibility. The open space in front of the main entrance will be carefully raised to provide step-free access.

The artist-in-residence program will continue without interruption. However, regular exhibitions and events at the Kebbel Villa will be paused until mid-February 2026. During this period, selected works from the District of Upper Palatinate's collection will go on tour, and individual events will take place at alternative venues.

For information about external events during the renovation, please visit the program section of our website.
