Jutta Brunsteiner

Jutta Brunsteiner was born in Salzburg, Austria, where she later studied geography at the University of Salzburg. She lives and works in her hometown, with occasional work stays in Burgenland, Austria.
During her artistic training, she was a guest student at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and took correspondence courses at the European Art Academy in Trier. She also gained significant inspiration from the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg. Her influential mentors include Prof. Schmegner, Prof. Zenzmeier and Prof. Brandstätter.
Scholarships from the city and state of Salzburg took Jutta Brunsteiner abroad on several occasions, including to Finland, Italy, the USA, Germany and Georgia. Her international presence is reflected in her participation in symposia in Austria, Lithuania and Italy, as well as in numerous exhibitions and exhibition participations at home and abroad.
Her works have been presented in Austria (including Salzburg, Vienna, Innsbruck, Eisenstadt, Graz, Strobl, Melk and Gmunden) as well as in Bosnia (Sarajevo), Estonia (Tallinn), Finland (Helsinki, Vantaa), Georgia (Tbilisi, Oni), Germany (Dresden, Passau, Regensburg, Aachen, Bad Tölz, Berchtesgaden), Italy (Casoria, Trieste, Bosa, Alghero, Merano, Bologna, Nova Gorizia), Latvia, Lithuania (Zarasai, Vilnius, Antaliepte, Antazavė), Oman (Muscat), Spain (Málaga) and the USA (Virginia).
For over two decades, she taught at the Musisches Gymnasium in Salzburg and also led workshops in Austria and Georgia. Her artistic work is documented in various publications, and several of her works have been purchased by public institutions.
Her artistic work focuses on the fragility of the environment in the context of climate change and the vulnerability of femininity, particularly in the context of abuse and social power structures.
