Born in Stargard (Poland), Isabella Trybula has been living in northern Germany since her childhood and later also working there. From 2012 to 2013, she studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków; in 2017 she graduated from the Academy of Applied Sciences in Wismar (Dipl. Des. FH).
In her artistic practice, Isabella works with drawing, painting, sculpture and installation — at times developing interdisciplinary projects on the edge of performance. Film- and audio-projects appear occasionally in this context. Her works depict natural and human-made structures and landscapes as well as void and the decline of spaces and structural resources. As she is much interested in body-based improvisation and expression as well as in conception and analysis, her works differ enormously depending on the project she is currently heading.
The core of her work lies in the work-inherent ongoing study of perception itself and in the deconstruction of perceived reality as knowledge- and experience-based contextual and socially goaled acts. The other core is experimental playfulness and an expressive stroke: the artist pays special attention to momentum-driven coincidence.
