Julia Schewalie

Julia Schewalie's work focuses on wall objects and depicts ephemeral and immaterial phenomena. By reflecting light onto monochrome surfaces that do not reveal their identity and materiality, at least not at first glance, she attempts to evoke a contemplative mood. The aim of her art is to depict the transitory and intangible.

Julia Schewalie was born in Kazakhstan in 1988. From 2009 to 2015, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Prof. Anke Doberauer and Prof. Hermann Pitz, graduating with a degree in fine arts. Her works have been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums.
