Christiane Kaufmann

Partner: Schloss Plüschow, DE

Christiane Kaufmann's artworks are based on mathematically constructed forms that explore the interplay between color, surface and line. Her way of working is closely related to Concrete Art. However, she breaks with its rigorous elimination of human traces, as minimal variations in the structure occur due to the freehand drawing. In a constant repetition of straight lines from a single point, Christiane Kaufmann captures the meditative and temporal aspect of the drawing process. The concept of repetition allows the artist to immerse herself in pure creation and to discover hidden details that are inherently embedded in geometric forms but only become visible over time.

Christiane Kaufmann studied art education at the University of Passau and graduated in Free Painting at the AdBK Nuremberg as a master student. She lives and works in Aschaffenburg.

Her artworks have been exhibited at, among others, the Neues Museum Nürnberg, the Museum Moderner Kunst Wörlen (MMK) in Passau, the Kunsthalle Messmer in Riegel am Kaiserstuhl, the Otto Schäfer Museum in Schweinfurt, the BBK Artists' House in Würzburg, the Atelierhaus Aachen and the Neuer Kunstverein KunstLANDing in Aschaffenburg.
