Shirin Goldstein, born in Mecklenburg in 1987, lives and works in Schwerin and Leipzig. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Greifswald.
Her artistic career has been marked by numerous awards and grants. In 2019, she was honored as part of the University of Greifswald's graduate mentoring program and participated in various mentoring programs, including KarriereWegeMentoring and mentoringKUNST by Frauenbildungsnetz e.V. She also received a summer school scholarship from KARO AG and the art and media house FRIEDA 23 in Rostock. In 2020, she was nominated for the Young Artists' Prize of the Künstlerhaus Schloss Plüschow and received the Caspar David Friedrich Scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In 2021, she won first prize in the competition “Von der Kunst, die Krise zu deuten” (On the Art of Interpreting the Crisis) in cooperation with Marc W1353l at the Kulturhimmel Nordkirche.
Her works have also been shown in numerous exhibitions. In 2019, she was represented at the Baltic Art Weekend in the Kunsthalle Rostock and in the exhibition “Dysziplin” (Discipline) in Greifswald. In the same year, she also took part in further exhibitions at the Caspar David Friedrich Institute in Greifswald. In 2020, she presented her work in the exhibition “Gold. Künstlerinnen und Literatinnen im Dialog” (Gold. Female Artists and Writers in Dialogue) at the Kunstmuseum Schwaan and in the exhibition “Dystanz” in Neustrelitz.
