Lenore Hart, who also writes as Elisabeth Graves, is a novelist and poet. She is the author of Waterwoman, Ordinary Springs; Becky: The Life and Loves of Becky Thatcher, The Raven's Bride, Black River, and Devil's Key. Her work has also been published in Portuguese and Norwegian editions. Two novels are optioned for film, and she is also series editor of The Night Bazaar fiction anthologies. Books for young readers include T. Rex at Swan Lake and The Treasure of Savage Island. Her short stories, nonfiction, poems, short memoirs, and reviews have appeared in numerous magazines and journals. She has presented or been a visiting writer at Elizabethtown College, Flagler College, Florida State University, The Irish Writers Centre, The Norman Mailer Center, George Mason University, New College, Old Dominion University, and The U.S. Naval Academy. She has received awards, grants, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Virginia Commission for the Arts, The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, The Florida Fine Arts Council, Old Dominion University, and the Connecticut Poetry Society. Her work has been featured on Voice of America Radio, in Poets and Writers, and on the PBS-TV series "Writer to Writer." She is faculty in the Maslow Graduate Creative Writing Program at Wilkes University, and at the Ossabaw Island Writers Retreat.
