2019 began for Trish with the launch of her short film CONFINEMENT, narrated by Aidan Gillen, hosted by the Honorary Society of The Kings Inns, followed by official selection for DIFF, and a Season of 10 of her films in the Irish Film Institute celebrating her work, which began in the 80s, with music/slides shows, including NEW YORK and HEROIN, screened pre gigs in live music venues, and a number of short super 8mm and 16mm films including THE DRIP and BERLIN, now digitized by IFI. Founder member of Temple Bar Studios, she co created the Ha'Penny film Club. In 1997, her first feature, SNAKES AND LADDERS, with Pom Boyd, Gina Moxley, Sean Hughes, and Rosaleen Linehan, screened at Sundance, Toronto, HOF and San Sebastian. After residencies in Nipkow, Berlin, and the Irish Cultural Centre, Paris, she made a number of documentaries including HOODWINKED, the history of Irish women since 1922, now housed by the IFI as THE HOODWINKED COLLECTION with over 30 hours of the original nterviews planned for digitization in 2019; including Sinead O’Connor, Crrtiona Crow, Leland Badrwell, Mary O’Rourke Joe Lee, In 2002 her documentary FLIRTING WITH THE LIGHT about legend musician Leo O’Kelly screened on RTE prime time, and in 2009 the documentary WHAT AM I DOING HERE? followed Donal O’kelly as he toured his unique theatre projects around Ireland and Europe. Since 2009 work includes a number of charcoal animation installations including ROUGH TIME, NO ENEMIES - LIU XIAOBO and STRANGERS OF KINDNESS which all eatured in her her first solo show in The Butler Gallery 2016. In 2011 she completed an MA in Visual Arts Practice Aosdana Member 2017 Currently developing an art film TIME ITSELF, focused on Henri Bergson’s about the psychological nature of time and universal consciousness, and is
on-going writer/director in development with THE END OF ROMANCE, based on a mother daughter relationship between, activist working mother and ethereal fragile daughter, Maud Gonne and Iseult Gonne, both pursued romantically by the poet WB Yeats, with Producers Edwina Forkin and Kees Kasander and with development funding from Irish Screen and The Media
Fund. Trish is also currently on a working group to write a paper, The Voice of the Artist in the Age of the Algorithm, for the international body IEEE, Institution of Electrical and Electonics Engineers, on Ethics and the Arts in relation to the development of technological innovation for the benefit of humanity.
